Why I Despise Iron Man 3

I hate this movie with a passion because I have never seen so many plot holes and inconsistencies this big in so long, not since Prometheus. Is this as bad as Prometheus? No. Prometheus is far worse but this is awful. Let's start the problems with the fact that Tony Stark is the most incompetent superhero in this movie, hell other characters are more superheroes than he is. Throughout the entire movie Tony Stark gets captured, beaten up, fails in fights, has anxiety attacks, and in repetition to. Oh speaking of that the anxiety plot line is complete bullcrap. Let me get this straight, Tony Stark went through the explosion of a convoy, had to have an arc reactor surgically implanted into his chest, get beaten up by a bigger Iron Man suit, nearly die from poisoning, got beaten up by Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo and he came out fine but sending a missile through a portal gave him anxiety? BULL!!! Also this anxiety plot line completely disappears within the movie all because some annoying brat kid told him to build something. Pssst! Movie! Anxiety doesn't work that way, its a physical and mental condition. Speaking of we come to one of my least favorite cliches the annoying ten year old sidekick, now in recent years the kid actors have gotten better with films like Looper, Real Steel, Man of Steel, etc but in this movie the kid is along the lines of Jake Lloyd from Phantom Menace annoying, thats all I really need to say about him because he disappears in the movie as well. Lets talk about Tony Stark's idiocy in this movie, he yells out his address on TV for the Mandarin to come out and fight him and yet he is surprised that the Mandarin's men attack him...HELLO?!? Anybody in there!? You moron! So during this attack we get a really cool moment where to save Pepper Potts, Tony Stark makes the Extremis Armor go onto Pepper thus protecting her, okay this is a cool reference to her character in the comics when she has her own suit and calls herself Rescue, she was a cool hero...but unfortunately she's in the suit for 30 seconds. Also something I want to comment on is the change of the Extremis Armor, it looks great and the way how it works is very much improved from the dumb version of the comics. So during the attack, Tony and the Extremis Armor escape and he goes to Tennessee in a matter of hours and crash lands into the ground...I'm sure with that metal suit, Tony's bones would be powder. Okay lets backtrack a bit, in the beginning of the film, there is a flashback to the turn of the century and we meet Aldrich Killian played by Guy "I'll be in any movie for a Ham Sandwich" Pearce, (seriously Guy stop being in everything, and stop picking the crappy movies) he plays probably the most stereotyped nerd scientist who is a big fan of Stark and wants to make a work with Stark so he says he'll wait for him on the roof but Stark never shows...Gee I wonder if he will return as a villain later. Seriously, how freaking predictable can you get? Next time we see him, he's in a white business suit with long sleek blonde hair and has a briefcase...VILLAIN!!! He shows that he is working on the Project Extremis which fixes brain cells and heals you... again I wonder if this will come up later in the villain's plan. Well guess what it does, the serum Extremis (by the way, thats NOT what Extremis was in the comics it was Tony's suit) turns people who are injected into people made of lava and fire...yes you are reading this right. *facepalm* Basically you are a living time bomb if you are injected, you either survive or you don't, why do certain people survive being injected? Only the hacks who came up with this can tell you because its never explained in the movie. This dumb plot leads to one of the most unintentionally funny scenes in history where when Guy Pearce injects himself with and breathes fire at Rhodey. I was cracking up in my seat because one Guy Pearce made a ridiculous face as he did it also the CGI looked awful. Also Guy Pearce and Pepper started to like each other in the beginning but that plot line goes absolutely no where...beginning to notice a theme about this movie? Plot lines are introduced but disappear in this crappy movie. Now...its time I talk about one of the main sins about this movie, the one thing everybody talks about when they talk about Iron Man 3...the twist. It turns out that the Mandarin played Ben Kingsley...is an actor. The real villain Guy Pearce (What a shock!) hired him to be the symbol and face of the Ten Rings to make him more threatening. So for all of you who read the comics and loved seeing the battle of magic vs technology theme take place with the Mandarin and his Ten Magic Rings that can allow him to control anything, rise the Army of the Dead, and bring down the Ancients from the heavens to fight Iron Man, you and I were a bit PISSED OFF WHEN THEY REVEALED THIS!! GOD I HATE THIS SCENE, YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE IRON MAN VILLAIN AND JAMMED A BROOM UP THE BUTT AND TWISTED IT, THAT'S HOW MUCH YOU RAPED THIS CHARACTER'S AWESOMENESS!! The whole point of the Mandarin was the theme of Magic VS Technology but when you take that out of the picture it ruins the charm and intrigue of the character but this is not the worst part of the Mandarin, the actor is not even a villain he's just a dumb stoner who has sex with a bunch of hot chicks ugh...and it gets worse. During the ending fight Guy Pearce in all his very fake CGI glory yells out to Stark "I am the Mandarin!" As soon as he said that I started hitting my forehead in anger. So Guy Pearce's plan is to...take over the world? Okay this is a problem that really baffled me, his evil plan is never explained, he turns people into Fire People and he plans to kill the President and then...what? Do you think witht he president dead you'll just waltz right into the Oval Office and take command? Hey buddy guess what we have a military, we have SHIELD, we have the Avengers. Oh yeah, where the hell are those guys in this movie. Okay you can make the argument that Thor doesn't want to meddle with human affairs or is busy with Asgard, okay fair enough but what about Captain America who is hired to be an anti-terrorist agent of SHIELD, the Mandarin counts as a terrorist I think Cap'n would be on the Mandarin like Moth to flame. What about Hulk? He would have been a good help but no Bruce Banner is only there for a cameo after the credits...ugh. So the climax happens and I'll admit seeing so many iconic suits coming in and out while Tony and War Machine fight was really cool and the effects were really good except for the CGI Guy Pearce but it is ruined by Tony Stark's incompetence seeing how he gets beaten down yet again and the Extremis Armor gets destroyed. Ugh what is this the 50th time Tony Stark has failed to fight? The other times he failed because he wasn't even in the suit fighting he was just remotely controlling the suit, then what is the point of the ability to wear the suits if you can remotely control them?!? Also the Iron Legion, were all under the Mansion ready for deployment and Stark says he finished them months ago...W-WHAT!? This raises a gigantic plot hole, why didn't Tony just bring out all the suits when the Mandarin attacked his mansion?!? This movie could have ended right there, it would have saved us two more hours of pain! So Tony isn't the one to bring down the villain, its Pepper. See earlier, Guy Pearce used leverage against Stark by injecting her with Extremis. Did I mention this villain makes no freaking sense with his logic. You know that Extremis gives your men super strength and healing abilities and so you give Tony's love interest Extremis expecting...what? For her to die? Well that I can understand only if you freaking explain why some live and some don't! EXPLAIIIIIN!!!! So anyway the villain is defeated by one of the only awesome scenes of this movie, Super Pepper comes out and beats Guy Pearce to death and doing some awesome moves! Holy Crap and Beans, why couldn't the movie be about her, she proves to be a better hero than Iron Man. Also Iron Patriot is in the movie, if it seems like I'm barely talking about him its because the movie does as well. Basically instead of it being Norman Osborn in his own Iron Man suit trying to be better than Stark (which would allow for a cool crossover into the Amazing Spider-Man universe) instead its just War Machine with a paint job...I'm not even going to go into that one. But the movie's worst sins come next in the ending when Tony says that to help himself sleep he needs to get rid of the suits so next we see some of the most iconic suits from the comics get destroyed...*eye twitches* next Tony gets his shrapnel removed *head twitches* and he throws his New Element Reactor into the ocean..........[MARK.exe has stopped working.] [Reboot] WHAAAT?!? So many questions rise here, why does Tony need to destroy the suits? He built all those suits in the past and they didn't affect him. Also why did he take out the shrapnel?!? Yes I know he did in the comics but it completely contradicts a speech Tony said in the Avengers about how the Element Reactor and the shrapnel are a part of him now and he accepts it. So here he just gets rid of it. Why does he throw the reactor into the ocean? He discovered a new element and he just gets rid of it?!? BULL!!!!! Now the suits have nothing to run on thus showing that Tony Stark will only be a cameo in the Avengers 2...ROT IN HELL SHANE BLACK!!! Ugh...this movie freaking sucks. Well Marvel your Phase 2 is off to a bad start, you better hope Thor The Dark World is good or your franchise is going down the toilet. I actually consider the ending worse than the Mandarin twist.

Iron Man Rises- I mean Iron Knight 3- I mean Iron Man 3 gets a Mud Rating AKA it gets an F or a 1/10. It is a rushed film with a writer and director who has no respect for the source material or fans. Jon Favreau should've stayed on board as writer and director so that this movie would have been good.

Movie Pitch: Green Lantern Reboot

Now since Green Lantern 2011 was a flop at the box office (but I liked it) it will be inevitable that they will reboot the movie in a few years just before the Justice League movie comes out. So I have an idea what this reboot should be...don't do an origin story. As much as I loved Man of Steel I am getting really sick of origin stories and since it was already done what you should do is make the movie so that Hal Jordan (No not Jon Stewart or Kyle Rayner) is already established himself as the Green Lantern but he's still just beginning so only a few members of the corp actually like him: Tomar-Re and Kiliwog. Throughout the film, Hal Jordan is doubting himself as a Lantern and keeps reliving how he became the Green Lantern via flashbacks, he is worried that since he couldn't save his father or Abin Sur that he will fail as a Green Lantern. During all this the Green Lantern named Sinestro has been banished by the Guardians to the Antimatter Universe, he uses his yellow ring of fear to escape so that he can take revenge on the Corps. During all this, Hal Jordan keeps visiting Earth to find an answer to his problems and try to solved some issues with his family and loved ones. The Guardians sense that a large amount of yellow energy has been released onto Oa beneath the surface, the Corp goes to investigate and discover Sinestro wielding a yellow ring of fear infecting the main battery with yellow energy, this began to make all the Green Lanterns weaken and some even die. Tomar-Re quickly took a piece of the central battery that still had Green Energy within in and sent it to Earth, to Hal Jordan, along with a message via ring communicator saying that he is the last Green Lantern with the power of will now and he must stop Sinestro before he corrupts the Corp. So Hal Jordan must make the choice, give up or fight Sinestro. After stopping an group of armed terrorists and saving many civilians, Hal Jordan gets his courage back for he sees the Corps like those civilians and Sinestro as the terrorist so he flies to Oa where first he tries to talk Sinestro down with a speech but Sinestro just gives a cheap shot attack but this doesn't stop Hal Jordan, he accepts his fear but rises above it to fight Sinestro. After a long battle, Hal Jordan sends Sinestro back to the Antimatter Universe without the yellow ring, then restores the central battery to normal turning it back to green energy thus saving the corp from corruption. The Lanterns then treated Jordan like a war hero and Hal Jordan smiled feeling proud and learning that doubt leads to fear.

Casting:
Hal Jordan - David Tennant, one of my favorite actors, known for Doctor Who or Broadchurch I think he would be a great Hal Jordan because he is great at action, being funny and sassy, and dramatic acting.

Sinestro - Joaquin Phoenix, another one of my favorite actors, known for movies like Signs, We Own the Night, and Walk the Line, Phoenix proves that he is a great character actor but we haven't seen him do many action flicks so I think this is his time to shine in one and as a villain.

Tomar-Re - Cary Elwes, a more underrated actor since I haven't seen him do much but I would love to hear him play Tomar-Re.

Kiliwog - Now the late Michael Clarke Duncan was a great Kiliwog and he will be missed but if I have to choose a recasting it has to be Vin Diesel, kind of predictable but I just feel that his voice is perfect for Kiliwog.

Carol Ferris - Olivia Wilde, in the story I came up with she doesn't have a huge part but he does visit her.

Director & Writer - Joseph Kosinski, for his work with one of my favorite movies: Oblivion I think his style with aesthetics would be great for Green Lantern.

Title - Green Lantern: Emerald Crusader

Well thats my pitch for the reboot, tell me your thoughts down below

Old VS New: Jaime Reyes VS Ted Kord

I love both these characters, their stories are light hearted, fun, action packed, humorous, and interesting. Now you might be wondering, why I'm not comparing these two heroes with the original Blue Beetle: Dan Garret from original Blue Beetle comics. Well its because he is not as popular as Kord and Reyes but I still love Dan Garret. For those of you who are unfortunate to not know of this great hero, I'll lay down a summary. (WARNING, THIS HISTORY LESSON IS LONG, IF YOU ALREADY KNOW ALL ABOUT THE BLUE BEETLE AND JUST WANT TO SEE THE COMPARISON GO DOWN TO THE BOLD LETTERING.)
In 1939, the character of Blue Beetle (Dan Garret) was first featured in Fox Comics' Mystery Men Comics #1 which was written by the creator of The Spirit himself: Will Eisner, who's grave was spit on by Frank Miller with The Spirit movie...I hate Miller. Also I just realized, Blue Beetle and original Spirit crossover would have been awesome. The art was done by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski of Fox Comics. The main story was that a rookie cop named Blue Beetle took a new drug called Vitamin 2X and it gave him super-energy and he wore a bullet-proof suit. Remember kids always take drugs to get superpowers! His run in comics didn't last long, I've never read those comics but I hear they are pretty good. Because of the fall of Fox Comics in the mid 50s and the rise of the Golden Age of Comics, Blue Beetle faded into obscurity but was still around in a radio-show like the Spirit. After the fall of Fox Comics, the Blue Beetle comics were bought up by Charlton Comics who are responsible for the creation of characters like Captain Atom and E-Man. No that's not He-Man spelled wrong. Over the years, Blue Beetle was still in obscurity but still surviving, he went through a reboot when he was owned by AC Comics, this version is the one most people remember: Archaeologist Dan Garrett finds a mystic scarab in Egypt and it gave him the power to fight crime and so he would transform into the Blue Beetle by yelling the words "Kaji-Dah!" This reboot I've heard is awesome but why don't we get to the the guys we're supposed to be talking about. In 1967, co-creator of my favorite Marvel superhero Spider-Man: Steve Ditko wrote the revision series about Ted Kord, a student of Dan Garret who is given the scarab when Garret is killed but the scarab didn't bond with him like Garret so he did not obtain powers, but he wanted to continue the work of the Blue Beetle so similar to Batman, he built an array of blue beetle themed gadgets, suit, and vehicles and he went out into the night to fight crime. I love Ted Kord he was a fantastic hero, I'm going to save my opinions until the comparison but I have to give credit, I love was Ditko did. May his legacy live on in his creations: Ted Kord, Spider-Man, the Question, Doctor Strange, etc. The fanbase for Blue Beetle grew over the years even those he kept switching companies but it wasn't until the 80s when DC Comics bought the rights and he's been there since. The series of Ted Kord ended in 1987 with the comic most Blue Beetle fans rage over where Blue Beetle is killed off mercilessly by the villain by getting shot...I'll save my thoughts for the comparison. The series ended there but...in Infinite Crisis #3 in 2006 the new Blue Beetle was revealed indicating a new series. Jaime Reyes from El Paso, found the Scarab of the original Blue Beetle and it bonded to him, allowing him to become the new Blue Beetle in a metal/biological suit (Think Guyver meets Iron Man) in his new series, and it kicked ass! The series was a fun as hell series...until DC cancelled it due to low sales....CRAP! See fans of Blue Beetle were so biased about loving Ted Kord that no one could replace him so they looked at this new version and pretty much said, "Screw that!" Kind of like how Doctor Who fans feel about new regenerations every single time, they hate him at first but grow to love him. Jaime Reyes has returned once again in the New 52 reboot series...but I'm not fan. There's nothing horrible about the first issue I read, I just really didn't get into it as much as the 2006 one.
(NOW THE COMPARISON BEGINS)
So these two great heroes need to be compared by a huge fan of them, why not me? We're going to put this into four categories
Personality.
Action.
Art.
Story.

Let's begin this is Ted Kord VS Jaime Reyes: The Blue Beetle

Personality: Both of these characters are likable in their own ways, one is the man who wants to do the right thing while keeping respect to his mentor and his identity of the Blue Beetle. The other is a teenager who is gifted with this high tech scarab and responsibility and is trying to learn the right moral values in life while dealing with the alien race that built the Scarab or other threats to Earth, but who's personality is better? Kind of a hard choice but I have to go with Ted Kord, even though I definitely connected to Jaime seeing how I'm also a teenager, I just found the Indiana Jones like personality of Ted Kord to put more of a smile on my face.

Action: Now just because the action of today's comics are much more EXTREEEEEEME  doesn't mean its more satisfying, this category is judged by the style, execution, and how much the action satisfies me. Both the action of Kord and Reyes are done really well, of course their wasn't a lot of flying around with explosions in Kord's fights because it was the Silver Age of Comics at the time, but in my personal opinion and I will try not to do this in the future but I think the action gets a tie from both sides. I just couldn't choose between them.

Art: The art of Kord was also done by Steve Ditko when he was still part of it and honestly I love his art style, to me it is the definitive Silver Age art, but I love the art of Cully Hamner for Jaime Reyes's series, everything is well detailed and standing out. Sorry Ditko I love ya but this round goes to the new art of Cully Hamner.

Story: Now we come to the biggest of the four rounds: story. Which series had more heart, was more fun, had great characters, and which had better arcs? Well let's see, now both series had their rough endings, Jaime Reyes was cancelled and Kord was killed off in a cold way, although I didn't hate his death as much as anyone else. Yes, his death sucks but at least he was killed on panel, gave a cool line to go out on, and we got to feel emotionally invested when he died, unlike in so many comics when famous heroes die off screen for dumb reasons, so I liked the ending of the Ted Kord series but I was still bummed that he died. The stories he had were greatly written and most of them aren't dated that much. Let's talk about Jaime Reyes, his story about fighting the Reach, the creators of the Scarab was a great story arc, and it had great science fiction ideas, fun characters, and awesome comedy. So who's going to be the tie-breaker and be the winner? It was hard for me to choose but...Jaime Reyes is the winner. I just felt more satisfied with his story even though it was never finished (Damn you DC) so I hope Jaime Reyes is doing good in his New 52 series.
